Accumulator + Encoder 2009-10-12 16:03

8-bit Pipelined Accumulator and then encode the 5-MSB's of the output to thermal code. And, with a clock frequency of 5GHz. The wave above looks ok, but the power consumption is really horrible! However, the Gilbert cell is much more complicated to deal with.

Given below are the advantages and dis-advantages of double balanced mixers.

Advantages:

  • Both LO and RF are balanced, providing both LO and RF rejection at the IF port.
  • All ports of the mixer are inherently isolated from each other.
  • Increased linearity compared to single balanced.
  • Improved suppression of spurious products (all even order products of the LO and/or the RF are suppressed).
  • High intercept pioonts.
  • Less susceptable to supply voltage noise due to differential topography.

Disadvantages:

  • Require a higher LO drive level.
  • Require two baluns if not connected to differential amplifiers.
  • Ports highly sensitive to reactive terminations.

Now, who can tell what is it below?

Tape-out! There are really interesting and amazing layout in our designs, something is like people dancing without any clothes, something looks as theForbidden City......Hehe, sorry I can't post them here. So, only mine.
