LED maker Cree Inc. has agreed to purchase a 592,000-square foot
production facility in Huizhou, China, the company said Monday
(Nov. 9). The purchase price for the facility was not disclosed.
Cree (Durham, N.C.) said the Huizhou facility, located in China's
Guangdong province, would be the company's first chip production
facility outside of North America. The site is targeted to also
house future components manufacturing expansion, the company said.
