Embedded Linux on Xilinx MicroBlaze
親愛的老師：
您好！
為在台灣推廣基於FPGA 的嵌入式系統與配合大專院校教學改革，技與台灣大學資訊。美國XILINX大學計劃部與依元素科技將在台灣大學為大學教師舉辦為期2天的WorkShop課程培訓。講師為XILINX特聘的全球大學計畫精品課程講師 John Williams，本次培訓主題為Embedded Linux on Xilinx MicroBlaze。
本課程培訓含有理論與實作部份，結合實驗設備和實驗手冊完成課程的講授，通過此次培訓，您可以掌握基於FPGA的嵌入式系統知識體系，熟悉相關實驗步驟；可以勝任對大學相關課程教學、課程開發與科研專案的開發工作；同時也為後續課程打下很好的基礎，並在此基礎繼續更高層的研究。可以免費使用本次的教材在大學開設本課程並教授學生。
本次培訓配備硬體實驗平臺，參加者可以現場動手操作和演示與申請Xilinx原廠完整正版工具軟體的捐贈。本次培訓對大專院校教師免費，上機座位名額有限，將以報名時間先後安排上機名額。
參加者要求:
- 具備基本的數位設計經驗
- 具備基本的HDL知識(VHDL或Verilog)
- FPGA基礎概念並有ISE 與 EDK 的使用經驗。

John Williams介紹

Dr. John Williams has rich experience on porting uClinux to Microblaze in Xilinx FPGA. He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of ITEE (Information Technology and Electrical Engineering), at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia. He is working on architectures and design methodologies for reconfigurable System-on-Chip (rSoC). John earned his Ph.D from the Department of Electronic Engineering at QUT.
Course Name ：Embedded Linux on Xilinx MicroBlaze
Course Objectives ：
- Basic understanding of Linux and embedded Linux： kernel architecture，device drivers and hardware interfaces，memory management and MMU vs noMMU kernels
- Ability to create a working MicroBlaze Linux system using Xilinx EDK and PetaLinux
- Ability to create, develop and debug embedded applications
- Understanding of hardware interfacing options for MicroBlaze
- Ability to create and integrate a simple custom hardware core
- Ability to create a simple device driver
