History in science and technology reveal methods, approaches and
scientific way of interpreting phenomena.No matter how different
today is from the past,these basic tools and methods with which we
acquired our current understanding to nature and built our scope of
knowledge in science still remain unchanged and have much use
guiding us now.
Studing history warn us of certain pitfalls and mistakes that
we can avoid.History in the development of our social and political
landscape has unveiled universal trends,preserved invaluable legacy
of wisdom to taught us valunble lessons of what is right and
wrong.From America's Civil War,we learn that suppression and
coerion of its people by a government and disregard theof
human rights will ultimately lead to discontent, rebellion and
eventul debacle of the government.Accoring to Keyness's economic
theory, a low rate of unemployment is motivating force for the
economy for any society, which could be demonstrated by the
economic situations before and after the reform in China.Before the
reform ,there is no unemlopyment,that is ,all the people were
employed.However,the economy has stagnant and lagged,with extremely
low efficiency.After the reform,althoughmthe economic reform
campaign made some people lose their jobs and there is a rate of
unemployment,the economy has't been injured but rapidly and steadly
grown vigorously.Painful momeries of World War I and II still warn
us the danger and damage of war,the impact of 1998 Asia Financial
Crisis still daunt us and remind us to take precautions to avoid
the same tragedy from happening again.
Studing history provides us with successful example and
inspriation.Sucess stories of great people will perpectually serve
as encouragement and illumination for the present strivers.Some of
these stories can even influence the path we take in our lives and
our career decision.The devote Tomas Adison has for science has
inspried generations of people to participate in science
reserch.The determination of Martin Luther King has wakend millions
of people's awarness of human rights and encouraged them to pursuit
freedom.
To sum up,history is indispendent to understanding why such changes
occur.However,today's society is developing at a breath-taking
speed that displace everything from people's mind frame to
social customs.Therefore, rigidcoping history dose no work
since changes in every field are taking place in an
unprecendeted rate.We must understand no matter how valuable
history is ,it can merely serve as a reminder and guidance,not a
one-size-fit-all model to follow or a foolproof panaseas to current
problem.
