The AITO M9's smart headlight LDM (Light Driver Module) is the core module that enables pixel headlights, dynamic projection, and other functions. Today, we will tear it down to see exactly which chips are used inside.

Teardown

After removing the housing, we find a single PCB motherboard inside. The workmanship is solid, and the component partitioning is very clear.

The biggest component on the PCB is the STMicroelectronics SPC58 series MCU, an automotive-grade microcontroller. This is the brain of the entire module, handling all the control logic for projection, dynamic pixels, and more.

Right next to it is STMicroelectronics' L99SM81V, an automotive-grade two-phase stepper motor driver. It supports micro-stepping and stall detection—essentially used to precisely control mechanical movements inside the headlight, such as dimming and angle adjustment.

Near the interface area, there are 4 identical chips—Semione's SMBJ16CA, bidirectional TVS diodes. Their placement is very deliberate, all tightly clustered around the connectors. The purpose of this arrangement is to ensure that transient interference and surge energy are bypassed at the very first moment they enter, preventing them from reaching the sensitive circuits deeper inside the PCB. This is a very standard protection design.

The rest are a bunch of molded SMD power inductors and solid-state capacitors, most of which have no brand markings—only parameters, with unknown suppliers.

The layout on the back of the PCB is equally clear, and the "highlights" are even more notable: domestic power devices are starting to gain traction.

Near the communication interface is an NXP TJA1049T, a high-speed CAN transceiver—an automotive-grade standard component, which is not surprising.

What truly stands out is the use of 6 Silan Microelectronics MOSFETs, model SVGQ06130PD. These are high-speed P-channel power MOSFETs, explicitly marked as compliant with the AEC-Q101 automotive-grade standard. This is a substantial adoption, indicating that domestic power devices are genuinely being used in production vehicles, and automakers are genuinely willing to use them.

There are also two Nexperia N-channel MOSFETs (BUK9Y6R0-60E), one Littelfuse diode, and several Semione TVS diodes, still with a layout focused on concentrated protection around the interface areas.

Summary

In the AITO M9's smart headlight LDM driver, the "brain" is still from STMicroelectronics, and the communication is still from NXP—but the "muscle"—those 6 MOSFETs—are already from domestic manufacturer Silan Microelectronics. From passive protection (TVS) to active driving (MOSFETs), domestically produced automotive-grade chips are gradually moving from the periphery to the core.
