As Xiaomi Auto's first SUV model, the Xiaomi YU7 has garnered significant attention for its outstanding intelligent configurations and rich in-vehicle ecosystem experience. We wonder how many of our readers are already Xiaomi YU7 owners. Today, EEWorld will teardown a component you care about—the Xiaomi YU7's onboard fast-charging module.

Pictured above is the Xiaomi YU7's 67W onboard fast-charging module. It features two USB-C ports, labeled "DP 67W" and "USB 67W" respectively. First, both support Xiaomi's proprietary 67W fast charging. Secondly, the port labeled "DP" also supports DP video transmission, allowing connection to monitors or docking stations when needed, while the port labeled "USB" is likely for pure USB data communication, suitable for connecting peripherals like USB drives or mobile phones. Users who have experienced this firsthand are welcome to share their feedback in the comments section.

Teardown

After disassembling the Xiaomi YU7 67W onboard fast-charging module, we found that apart from the plastic rear cover, it mainly consists of a die-cast aluminum alloy housing. The aluminum housing is equipped with thermal pads to assist with passive cooling, along with a PCB motherboard.

Let's focus on the components on this PCB motherboard.

Analog Devices high-performance display driver chip, model MAX96745GTN/V. The core value of this chip lies in its integration of high-precision DACs and buffers, capable of generating up to 16 independently programmable gamma reference voltages, thereby precisely controlling the grayscale performance of each pixel on the display. In simple terms, it means better display quality.

Texas Instruments synchronous buck converter, model LMR34215-Q1. This is an automotive-grade product featuring an ultra-compact package, supporting an ultra-wide input voltage range of 4.2V~42V and a current output of 1.5A.

Texas Instruments power product, LDO, model TPS746-Q1.

Texas Instruments analog switch, model TS5A23157-Q1. A dual-channel SPDT used for signal channel switching scenarios.

Texas Instruments low-dropout regulator, model TPS7B69-Q1.

A MOSFET with the marking "M2L 2357". Does anyone know which manufacturer produces this specific component?

Next to the Type-C port are two identical chips, both Southchip (SOUTHCHIP) USB fast-charging protocol chips, model SC1851XMQ. However, specific documentation could not be found on their official website. Could these be chips custom-exclusive for Xiaomi? If so, are they automotive-grade chips? We invite users with insider knowledge to share their insights.

Now let's see what other chips are on the other side of the PCB board.

For the 67W fast-charging solution, the two central chips are both Southchip synchronous 4-switch buck-boost controllers, model SC8701QQDER. These two are also automotive-grade certified chips.

There are 9 MOSFETs marked "M2L 2357", the same model as those on the other side of the PCB.

One device appearing again from the other side of the board: Texas Instruments low-dropout regulator, model TPS7B69-Q1.

One Yangjie Technology MOSFET, model YJG130G04C, located between the SMD inductor and the solid-state capacitor.

The main components of the Xiaomi YU7 onboard fast-charging module are as follows:

Summary

The above essentially covers the main components involved in the Xiaomi YU7 67W onboard fast-charging module after teardown. From the perspective of chip selection, there has been a certain degree of substitution with domestic chips, particularly in core fast-charging controllers and protocol chips. This proves that domestic power management chips have reached a level of performance and reliability capable of meeting the requirements of automotive electronics. Although there is no specific documentation for the USB fast-charging protocol chips, based on the inference from Southchip's other automotive-grade chip, it is highly probable that these are also automotive-grade chips.
