Hitachi Energy has inaugurated a new Power Transformers Factory and Service Center in Dilovası, Türkiye, marking a strategic expansion of its manufacturing and service footprint in the region.
The company says the facility is designed to strengthen production capacity, enhance service capabilities, and support rising global demand driven by electrification, renewable energy integration, and grid modernization.
The new site continues a manufacturing presence in Türkiye dating back to 1965 and reinforces the country’s role as an industrial and energy hub connecting Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
The facility will produce a full range of small, medium, and large power transformers for utilities, renewables, industry, transportation, and data centers. It is also expected to expand export capacity, serving customers in more than 50 countries.
The newly established Service Center is intended to support lifecycle services including consulting, installation, maintenance, upgrades, repairs, and asset lifetime extension.
Carlos Pettinau, Hub APMEA Manager, Business Unit Transformers at Hitachi Energy, emphasized the strategic importance of continued investment in Türkiye:
“As demand for reliable, efficient, and sustainable electricity continues to grow, investments, such as Dilovasi are essential to strengthening energy systems and supporting long-term economic development.
This new factory reflects our continued confidence in Türkiye and our commitment to serving customers with world-class technology, local expertise, and faster delivery capabilities.”
He highlighted that the facility strengthens both regional manufacturing resilience and customer responsiveness through closer proximity and improved delivery timelines.
On the service side, Jonas Wernli, Europe Manager, Service Business at Hitachi Energy, underscored the expanded lifecycle support capabilities enabled by the new center:
“With the new service center in Dilovasi, we are expanding our capabilities and supporting our growing customer base, while delivering faster and more flexible service solutions.
As a lifecycle partner, with more than 60 years of operation in Türkiye, we are future proofing our customers through improved responsiveness and closer proximity to our installed base.”
The facility is designed as a low-carbon site, incorporating renewable electricity, energy-efficient systems, solar integration, and water conservation measures including rainwater harvesting and grey water reuse. The company reports that the design is expected to reduce carbon emissions by around 95 percent.
The Dilovası site is also expected to increase workforce capacity by approximately 30 percent, contributing to local industrial development.
